What a show!
We had our much anticipated 'City Nights' themed fashion show in New York City on July 1st, and it was fabulous night! The models looked beautiful in dresses from Vera Wang, Herve Leger, Stella McCartney and more. The space was cool, the dj rocked some of our favorite songs, and the drinks were just enough to cool us down on the hot summer night.
Thank you Mirela and The Vogue City, Ann and Savvy and Co., Volvic Water, Carpe Diem and everyone that helped to put together the history-making show. And thanks to all of you, my wonderful new friends, who chose to attend and witness what a designer fashion show is really like!
All of us that are obsessed with fashion clearly know the reasons why we feel as strongly as we do. It is endlessly fun to:
1. find the beautiful new creative works of art that designers bring to us
2. follow stylish, in-the-know celebs sporting exciting designer looks
3. have to opportunity to choose and wear breathtaking designs for the first time ourselves, which brings on a 'high' similar to that which we experience when going out with a brand new love
Celebrities and fashion insiders, like I've stated before, get a lot of 'perks'. They have the ability to borrow designer duds and return them after their events. They also get invited to the hottest fashion shows in New York, Los Angeles, Milan and Paris. While the rest of the world has to follow the shows online, in newspapers, or watch them on TV, they get to RSVP, and get an actual seat at a show. Celebs and fashion insiders get to check out the other attendees, feel the music, read the program, and ultimately watch the beautiful models strut down the runway wearing some of the most beautiful creations...
